Thanks for this Michael, they've been noted, do you remember the time of year you saw the pair in Gravesend?

I had two in my garden on Wednesday (9/11/05) They were about for most of the day and used a nut feeder and attempted to use a seed feeder. First that I have heard of in this area.. Charly

Was at Chessingtons in late October when a flock of 8 RNP's took off to mob a sparrowhawk, fairly sure these were wild birds as local employees knew nothinig about them, what really surprised me was that there was about 50 people about and not one looked up at the sparrowhawk or heard the calls of the RNP's. Makes me wonder what else is about that people just dont see !

That is so true. I find when I'm out doing random boring stuff, I never have the inclination to have a "nose". However if I'm out walking the dogs, I notice the squirrels, foxes etc. It seems to be when I'm relaxed out for a stroll I tend to have time to nosey about. But I must admit, when on the M40 I do glance over the fields in search of our wallabies.

We need information regards out Ring Necked Parakeets. If you know of a flock of these birds then please let us know. They are are very common in the area immediately south of the North Downs between Reigate and Dorking. You're as likely to see them flying around as you are to see common species like wood pigeons or carrion crows. Lots of them in the village of Betchworth - a guaranteed sighting if you go there

Thanks for that, seems like we have to arrange a day with the digi cameras. At least they won't be as camera shy as the wallabies.
